Pilates for Men
It is common for men to spend hours every week lifting weights, building-up the larger muscle groups. Unfortunately, they neglect other important muscles that are essential for overall strength. That’s why most men find Pilates quite challenging when they first start and are surprised at how little flexibility they have.
Pilates in fact integrates core strenght, flexibility, balance, efficient movement patterns and uniform development, building strength in all parts of the body. This integrative approach makes Pilates very beneficial for men that are used to practice weight training muscle by muscle, in an isolated way. Pilates also emphasizes moving from the center of the body, the powerhouse developing core strength in the deep muscles of the center to stabilize the trunk and protect the back.
